Master Success

Master Success is a program designed to assist recipients of the Isaacson Incentive Scholarship (IIS) and the R.H. "Rick" Davis Scholarship with the successful completion of a four-year degree.

Awarded to first-year students, the IIS is a renewable scholarship awarded in recognition of the academic achievement of talented students throughout the Omaha area. The Davis award, which is also renewable, recognizes the most academically talented racial minority students in the state of Nebraska.

In an effort to meet the anticipated needs of these high-achieving scholarship recipients, Master Success has developed a skills-based, developmental program geared toward helping the participants set and achieve their academic and professional goals.

The goals of Master Success cover four broad areas of student development. This program will help participants improve their overall academic performance by providing student-centered workshops designed to develop and maintain the skills and strategies necessary for the successful completion of a four-year degree.

Believing that one of those necessary strategies is a sense of connectedness to the campus, the Master Success program will assist the participant in developing a healthy campus identity by engaging productively with campus issues, organizations, and communities.

The Master Success program will seek out opportunities for its participants to build an understanding of the richly diverse experiences of students from cultures different than their own. As a part of the University of Nebraska’s "celebration of diversity," the Master Success program will encourage participants to develop mutually supportive relationships with students of color.

To support a successful transition from the academic to the professional world, the Master Success program will work one-on-one with its more advanced students to conduct in-depth career exploration, build resumes and professional networks, and identify rewarding internship and employment opportunities.
